Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026. KoreaDecoded respects reader privacy. This page explains what information may be collected, why it is used, and which choices are available when you visit the site.

Information we may collect

  • Basic analytics data such as page views, device and browser type, approximate location, referral source, and interactions with pages.
  • Security and server-log data used to detect errors, abuse, automated probes, and invalid traffic.
  • Information you voluntarily provide through email, contact forms, or newsletter forms if those features are enabled.

Cookies and analytics

KoreaDecoded uses Google Analytics to understand how readers find and use the site. Google Analytics may use cookies, device information, IP-derived approximate location, and similar technologies to measure site usage. KoreaDecoded does not intentionally send names, email addresses, private messages, or other directly identifying form content to analytics tools.

Readers can control or delete cookies through browser settings. Google explains how it uses information from sites and apps that use its services at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Advertising and Google AdSense

KoreaDecoded may use Google AdSense after the site and account are approved. When advertising is active, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, limit fraud, and provide personalized or non-personalized advertising according to the visitor’s consent choices and applicable law.

Display ads are not active as of the last-updated date above. Before ads are served to visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, KoreaDecoded will use a Google-certified consent management platform where required so visitors can accept, reject, or withdraw consent. Advertising will remain disabled where the required consent controls are not ready.

Affiliate links and external services

Some guides may use clearly disclosed affiliate links after the relevant program approves KoreaDecoded. External sites process their own transactions and apply their own privacy policies. See the Affiliate Disclosure for the current stage and link-handling rules.

Choices and retention

You can block or delete browser cookies, use available consent controls, and avoid sending optional form information. Aggregate analytics and security logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for measurement, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, and legal obligations.
